Ending on a sweet note

For our wedding we wanted a little something sweet for guests at the end of the night.

Ideas were tossed around: doughnuts, cake pops, a candy bar.

But in our discussions I was always haunted by the hundreds of calories that would be consumed after a long night of celebration. The calories that aren't really worth it in retrospect but were "so worth it" at the time.

Rather than risk our guests' happiness on Sunday morning, we opted for something much simpler.

A little bit of sweet with a mason jar of moonshine was the perfect ending to the night.

Award-winning local food

My dad goes to his farmers' market every Saturday.

If you wake up in time to go with him, he'll introduce you to every vendor.

He loves that it's good food, made the old fashion way, and he's helping out the local economy. What's not to love?

In light of this, every Christmas I surprise my dad with an award-winning local delight. I usually find this through the Flavor of Georgia winners.

In 2009, I gave him bags of granola from Mitera Gourmet in Hahira, GA.
In 2010, I gave him Georgia Pecan Toffee, Gingerettes, and Dark Chocolate Covered Graham Crackers from Let Them Eat Toffee in Newnan, GA.

What will I find him this Christmas?

I also love searching for food on Foodzie!
